... That in 1966 a Broadway musical based on Breakfast at Tiffany's opened and closed after four performances. The star was Mary Tyler Moore. You can read the inside story of how it failed here. and sadly learn that MTM's performance as Holly Golightly was "atrocious". Years later a cast recording was made but is not widely available anymore.

... that the movie was based on novella written by Truman Capote called Breakfast at Tiffany's: A Short Novel and Three Stories. It has been widely reported that Mr. Capote wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly Golightly. Try to picture it.
