... that the same year that Michelle wowed critics with her performance in Dangerous Liaisons, she wowed audiences with her sultry musical rendering of "Making Whoopee" atop a grand piano in The Fabulous Baker Boys. It would be the combination of these two roles in 1989 that would permanently elevate her to "A List Actress" status. Ironically, this was a part she nearly didn't get since she was a last minute replacement for popstar Madonna.
