A Tribute to The Quiet Man
Let's start by saying that by twenty-first century standards this movie is horribly politically incorrect - especially where the treatment of women is concerned. (Note to male viewers - it is not okay to pull your wife down the road by her hair!) But viewed from the vantage point of the early 1950's it is a charmingly romantic comedy that shows a side of John Wayne that was rarely seen over the course of his career. Maureen O'Hara is gorgeous as always. And Ireland never looked more beautiful. We forgive this movie its trespasses and so should you. Please enjoy our Tribute to The Quiet Man.
