... that Fanny Brice was a real person. She was a Broadway and radio star during the early half of the 20th century. It is true that she was discovered by the infamous producer Florenz Ziegfield and that she was married to Nicky Arnstein. But the story told in Funny Girl is not a 100% accurate portrayal of her life. Here is a helpful site that gets to the bottom of what was and wasn't true in the movie.
