Did You Know?


that Easter Parade was originally developed a reunion movie for Judy Garland and Gene Kelly who had charmed audiences in The Pirate (pictured here.) But fate stepped in when Gene Kelly broke his angle a week before shooting was to start and Fred Astaire took over the role as a last minute replacement. ... that the New York City Easter Parade is a real event, that still goes on today. It started in the 1870's and reached the height of it's popularity in the 1930's and 1940's. You can learn more about it here.

Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
In the early 1960's, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce developed the idea of the "Hollywood Walk of Fame." The sidewalks of the most famous streets in the heart of Hollywood were lined with "stars" recognizing celebrities' life-long contributions to the entertainment industry.
