...that before marrying her current husband, Meryl STreep had a long term relationship and was engaged to actor John Cazale - best known as the ne'r do well Fredo in the first two The Godfather movies. They made only one film together, The Deer Hunter, before John's tragic death from bone cancer in 1978 putting a premature end to his career and their marriage plans.
