History of the Studio

Universal Pictures was founded in 1912 by German immigrant Carl Laemmle and was the first studio to offer tours for 25 cents. However, the silent movie directors were distracted by the tourists so the tours were discontinued only to be reinstated some fifty years later with the opening of the Studio Tour and Theme Park.
