Synopsis

Innocent man Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and sent to Shawshank Penitentiary for life. This excellent adaptation of a Stephen King novella chronicles Andy's life in prison over nearly 20 years, his friendship with fellow inmate Red (Morgan Freeman) and his ultimate triumph over his desolate situation.
