A Tribute to Cary Grant

Handsome and charming, with a voice and an accent like no one else, Cary Grant did one thing for thirty years. He entertained. In light-hearted comedies, in Hitchcock thrillers, whatever the genre, filmgoers fell for his style. It has even been said that Ian Fleming modeled James Bond after him. Then with the timing of a great comedic actor, he did what few entertainers ever do, he retired from the silver screen while he was still at the height of his career. He never returning, leaving us with the wonderful collection of films that we feature here in Destination Hollywood's Tribute to Cary Grant.

What's New

Cary Grant movies are still being enjoyed by fans around the world on television and DVD and sometimes if you're in the right place at the right time you will be able to see Cary Grant back up on the big screen. For example if you are going to be in the middle of Pennsylvania on November 21 you could head up the mountain to Penn State University to see Cary Grant in His Girl Friday.

The Cleveland Museum of Art will be showing To Catch A Thief on November 14th.

Or who knows maybe you will find yourself in Grapevine, Texas on February 6th and you will be able to catch The Philadelphia Story at the Palace Theatre on Main Street.

Make yourself a promise someday I will go to a movie theater and spend a evening with Cary Grant

New on DVD

Cary Grant's most recent movie, His Girl Friday , is now available on DVD.

Destination Hollywood Suggests this Tribute dedicated to one of Cary Grant's movies ...

A Tribute to An Affair to Remember

This is the movie they couldn't stop talking about in Sleepless in Seattle. We'll try to explain what all the fuss was about in our Tribute to An Affair to Remember.

A Tribute to The Philadelphia Story

Put us in your pocket, Mike. We don't know what that means either but Katharine Hepburn makes it sound soooo nice in this classic screwball comedy.
