…that Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally considered for the role of Reese and Lance Henriksen was cast as the Terminator. After reading the script, Schwarzenegger asked for the role of the Terminator.
... that every time a movie has time travel as part of its plot, all sorts of confusing questions seem to pop up. The kind of questions that kind of hurt your brain like how can John Connors send someone back in time to prevent his mother's death. If she died, he wasn't born. Those kind of questions. We would like to refer you to the Novikov Self Consistency Principle. It ateempts to solve the problems of paradoxes in time travel. You may want to have a bottle of aspirins ready as you read it.
... Here's how a Terminator is described in the movie. It doesn't say they have Austrian accents but of course this one did.
"The Terminator's an infiltration unit, part man, part machine. Underneath, it's a hyper-alloy combat chassis - micro processor-controlled, fully armored. Very tough. But outside, it's living human tissue - flesh, skin, hair, blood, grown for the cyborgs...The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy. But these [the 800 series] are new, they look human. Sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot." This scene did not appear in the movie but now we see why the Austrian accent works.
