… That Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie were named after George Bailey's friends in It's A Wonderful Life. Bert was the policeman and Ernie was the taxi cab driver. Watch Quick Clip

The Bells of St. Mary's is playing at the movie theater on Main Street. Henry Travers, the actor who played Clarence starred in that film also.

… Bert is seen reading a newspaper with the headline "Smith Wins Nomination." This is a reference to Frank Capra's film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington which also starred James Stewart.
