A Tribute to Lethal Weapon The lethal weapon of the title technically refers to the wise cracking, daredevil, tough as nails Los Angeles crime fighter Martin Riggs but partner Roger Murtaugh participates in his share of head banging police work in this four part action series. The series began much darker than it ended but what remained from start to finish was the enduring friendship between the police partners portrayed by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover and the unremitting violence required to foil the bad guys de jour. Taken together they are an excellent example of the modern action movie genre. Taken separately all four movies are highly entertaining and offer their own individual charm.
