A Tribute to Glory

Led officially by white commander Robert Gould Shaw (Matthew Broderick) and un-officially by infantrymen John Rawlins (Morgan Freeman) and Trip (Denzel Washington) the 54th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry fought heroically and honorably as the only all-black regiment of the Civil War. This movie chronicles their trials and tribulations as they try to make a difference and fight for their own freedom. Ultimately this movie's greatest triumph is how it contrasts the horror of warfare with the beauty of the human spirit. We dedicate this Tribute to the brave men of the 54th Regiment and masterful filmmakers of Glory.

Destination Hollywood Suggests these Tributes dedicated to these Glory's stars ...

A Tribute to Denzel Washington
His acting reaches out from the screen and touches your heart. We don't know how he does it – only that we're glad he does. We present our Tribute to Denzel Washington.

A Tribute to Morgan Freeman
We don't want to give away our age, but we learned the alphabet from him on The Electric Company. Since then we've never seen a movie of his that we didn't enjoy. We don't know if the two things are related but you'll see what we mean about his movies in our Tribute to Morgan Freeman.
